The American Federation for Children is an education advocacy group that aims to promote school choice. Founded in January 2010, the 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization maintains an office in Washington, D.C.[1][2]
Mission
According to the organization's website, its mission statement is the following:

Leadership
As of 2015, the chair of the foundation's Board of Directors was Betsy DeVos, a former chair of the Republican Party of Michigan. The foundation largely spends resources in state-level politics, operating with "state-based staff located in regional offices around the country."[4]
Noteworthy events
John Doe investigations
Two John Doe investigations, beginning in 2010 and ending in 2015, were launched by Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm (D) into the activities of staff and associates of Gov. Scott Walker (R).[5] The American Federation for Children was one of 29 conservative organizations that were targeted during the course of the second investigation.[6][7]
