Jamescita Peshlakai
Jamescita Peshlakai (Democratic Party) was a member of the Arizona State Senate, representing District 7. She assumed office on January 9, 2017. She left office on December 22, 2021.
Peshlakai (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the Arizona State Senate to represent District 7. She won in the general election on November 3, 2020.
Peshlakai is also a former Democratic member of the Arizona House of Representatives, representing District 7 from 2013 to 2015.
Peshlakai was a 2014 Democratic candidate of the District 7 of the Arizona State Senate.
Peshlakai resigned from the Arizona State Senate in December 2021 to accept a job with the U.S. Department of the Interior.[1]
Biography
Jamescita Peshlakai earned a B.S. in history and an M.A. in educational psychology from Northern Arizona University in 1997 and 2004, respectively. Peshlakai's career experience includes owning Navajo Beauty Way and working as a Native American liaison with the U.S. Department of the Interior; a veterans, youth, and elders liaison with The Navajo Nation Office of the President and Vice-President; and the policy director of the Arizona Foundation For Women. She served as an intern with the Youth Conservation Corps.[2]
