Evelyn L. Braun
Evelyn L. Braun was a judge of the New York Supreme Court 11th Judicial District. She assumed office in 1993. She left office on December 31, 2024.
Braun (Democratic Party, Republican Party, Conservative Party) ran for re-election for judge of the New York Supreme Court 11th Judicial District. She won in the general election on November 3, 2020.
Education
Braun received her B.A. degree from the Queens College of the City University of New York in 1976 and her J.D. degree from the St. John's University School of Law in 1978.[1][2]
Career
Braun began her career in 1978 as a legal editor for Mathew Bender & Co., Inc. The following year, she worked briefly as an associate of John A. Mitchell, Esq. From 1979 to 1983, she was a law assistant for the New York City Civil Court and, from 1984 to 1990, she was a law clerk for the Queens County Supreme Court. She became a judge of the Civil Court in 1990 and was elected to the Supreme Court in 1993. She also served as an Acting Judge of the New York City Criminal Courts in 1991 and 1992.[1]
