Charles W. Ray, Jr.
Charles "Chuck" Walter Ray, Jr. is a former superior court judge for the 4th Judicial District in Bethel, Alaska. He was appointed by Governor Sean Parnell (R) on June 20, 2012, and retired from the bench in 2016.[1][2]
Education
Judge Ray earned his B.A. from Stanford University in 1973 and his J.D. from the University of Oregon Law School in 1983.[3][1][4]
Career
- 2012-Present: Ray serves as a superior court judge for the 4th Judicial District in Bethel, Alaska.
- 1992-2012: Ran the law firm, Charles W. Ray, Jr. P.C., with an focus on maritime issues.
- 1989-1992: Worked with civil litigation firm Tugman, Clark & Ray as a managing partner.
- 1983-1989: Worked for the firm Bradbury, Bliss & Riordan with a focus on civil litigation.[4]
2012 appointment
Judge Ray was given a score of 4.1 over 5 rating by the Alaska Judicial Council in a 2011 survey.[5] Governor Parnell appointed Ray to the Bethel Superior Court on June 20, 2012.
