One ballot measure was certified for the November 4, 2014, ballot in the state of Wyoming, where it was defeated. The legislatively referred constitutional amendment addressed administration of government and education.

The 2014 legislative session began on February 10 and ended on March 6, 2014.[1] To place legislative referrals on the ballot, a minimum two-thirds vote was required in both the House and the Senate.

Wyoming's citizen initiative petition drive deadline closed on February 10, 2014. No initiatives were filed for the 2014 ballot. The required number of signatures for initiated state statutes and veto referendum was 37,606.


Historical facts

  • Between 1992 and 2013, an average of three measures have appeared annually on the ballot in Wyoming. Therefore, 2014 was a below-average year, based on the number of certified measures.
  • From 1992 to 2014, the number of measures on a statewide ballot has ranged from one to six.
  • Between 1992 and 2014, 20 of 34, or 59 percent, of Wyoming ballot measures have been approved by voters.
  • Conversely, 14 of 34, or 41 percent, of measures have been defeated.
