Stephanie Benfield is a former Democratic member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing District 85 from 1999 to 2013.

Benfield was a partner with the Law Offices of Stuckey and Manheimer Limited Liability Corporation from 1998-2002, sole practitioner with the Law Offices of Stephanie Stuckey from 1996-1999, staff attorney in the Fulton County Public Defender's Office from 1994-1996, and a staff attorney with the Prisoner Legal Counseling Project from 1992-1994.

She is a member of the Dekalb Council for the Arts Board, vice-president of the Jeannette Rankin Foundation, president of the Athens League of the Atlanta Bar Association, and member of the Epworth United Methodist Church.[1]

Benfield ran for re-election to the 85th District seat in 2010. She had no opposition in the July 20 primary. Benfield defeated Kenneth Quarterman (R) in the general election on November 2, 2010.[2]

In 2008 Benfield was re-elected to the Georgia House of Representatives District 85. Benfield (D) finished with 17,605 votes while his opponent Kenneth Quarterman (R) finished with 2,269 votes.[3] Benfield raised $33,566 for his campaign fund.[4]
