Elections
2014
Damschroder withdrew from the race after it became clear that not adding his signature to two of his five petitions would have invalidated his candidacy. Damschroder would have likely been entirely unopposed, as Democrats did not field a candidate. On February 21, Damschroder's wife, Rhonda, filed to run as a write-in candidate in the Republican primary. Had she won, she would have withdrawn from the general election, presumably allowing GOP officials to place her husband on the ballot in November. Bill Reineke, Jr., CEO of an area Ford dealership, joined the Republican primary as a write-in, and 2012 opponent Bill Young also became an unopposed write-in candidate in the Democratic primary. Reineke defeated Rhonda Damschroder in the primary and Young in the general election. Damschroder the incumbent expressed regret and embarrassment, admitting that the omission was his fault and that having his wife run was the only legal option available. He said he did not believe party officials would nominate a different replacement candidate. This was not the first time Rhonda Damschroder was involved in her husband's campaign; a former teacher, she served as campaign treasurer in previous years.[1][2][3][4][5][6]
2012
Damschroder won re-election in the 2012 election for Ohio House, District 88. Damschroder was unopposed in the March 6 Republican primary election and defeated William E. Young (D) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[7][8][9][10]
2010
Damschroder defeated Benjamin Nutter (R) and Bill Hrabak (C) in the November 2 general election.[11]

Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
