New Mexico Bond Act (1972)

The New Mexico Bond Act, also known as The Bond Act, was on the ballot in New Mexico on November 7, 1972, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The bond act allowed for the issuing of $2,000,000 in bonds each year from 1973 to 1977.[1]

The question on the ballot:
STATE EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION LIBRARY BOND ACT: The State Educational Institution Library Bond Act provides for the successive issuance and sale of State Educational Institution Library Bonds for each of the following years and in the amount specified for each year, 1973 - two millions dollars ($2,000,000), 1974 - two million dollars ($2,000,000), 1975 - two million dollars ($2,000,000), 1976 - two million dollars ($2,000,000), and 1977 - two million dollars ($2,000,000) to provide funds for capital expenditures of libraries at state educational institutions, and provides for a tax levy for payments of interest and principal of the bonds.[2] |
