"JUMP INTO YOUR BOOTS AND SADDLES...IT'S ROUND-UP TIME IN THE WILD AND WOOLY WEST!"

Adventurous brothers, Chico and Harpo, are heading west because they've heard you can pick up the gold right off the ground. On the spot, they befriend an old miner who gives them his estate, where no gold has been found for years, in exchange for their last 10 dollars. However, an old rival of the old miner wants to build a railway line through the estate, in exchange for a lot of money. However, a mean bartender wants to trick them. Now the brothers have to get out of this.

Fine part of the filmography of the Marx brothers, in which all the necessary ingredients are present, but the film still manages to distinguish itself somewhat from the rest. Firstly on a negative level, because the musical interludes were rarely as lousy as here. That song on the coach wasn't that bad, but 'You Can't Argue With Love' was really awful (what a strange male voice came out of that person). Also in terms of plot and successful jokes, Go West was nowhere really above average. Fortunately, there is a great climax scene with the train after an hour. A lot of energetic slapstick and cool effects pass by in one fell swoop, which make up for everything. Despite this, Go West is certainly not the best of the brothers.

3 stars.

Put this on again tonight.

Perhaps not one of their very best films, but this later Marx Brothers vehicle also has a number of hilarious scenes, including the classic 1 dollar exchange scene and a crazy finale in a speeding train.

Groucho is perhaps not such a chatterbox as usual in this film and Margareth Dumont is missed as the eternal victim of his whims, but the physical inventions and jokes are a bit more present, especially in the last part.

A big six, or three stars.

Sometimes silly humor, but sometimes good. The scene at the beginning with the switch trick is hilarious, just like the one in the train compartment. Chico at the piano and Harpo at the harp are regular and great parts of their films. Just nice to see again.
