Hinsdale Village Clerk Appointment Question (April 2011)
A Hinsdale Village Clerk Appointment Question was on the April 5, 2011 ballot in the village of Hinsdale, which is in both Cook and DuPage Counties.
This measure was approved Cook County
- YES 103 (75.74%)
- NO 33 (24.26%)[1]
This measure was also approved in DuPage County
- YES 1,087 (63.34%)
- NO 629 (36.66%)[2]
This measure sought to allow the position of village clerk to be appointed by the village president rather than elected in to office. Currently there has not been a clerk for two years and trustees saw this as the main reason an appointed position would be better for the village. Though some trustees still thought that it should remain an elected position.[3]
