Expand all | Collapse all

Mr. August, has been a Frederick County resident for the past 22 years, and a Maryland resident for over 45 of his 52 years. The time exception being during, and immediately following his military service in the US Army in the 1990s. Dave is a husband, father of 2 and dad to 3, professional in the Telecommunications and IT world, pet rescue dad, and a staunch defender of the Constitution and equal treatment by government under law.
  • Equal treatment for all by government, under law
  • Honor
  • Strict adherence to Constitutional Limits for the Federal Government
Fiscal responsibility and adherence to limitations to power have long been a problem in Congress. Wasteful spending and burdensome taxation have been used to pit citizen against citizen. I support massive reductions in federal government spending in all areas, but especially in areas where the government has expanded without Constitutional charge. I support a simplified tax system requiring less complex laws and forms. Eliminating the complications, loopholes, and confusion will lead to easier understanding tax burdens across the board. I support open audits of all agency and department budgets, to root out wasteful spending. And I support term limits for all House and Senate elected officials.
Integrity. Commitment. Adherence to the rules and limitations set forth by the Constitution.
Be the voice for the citizens of your district, while working with the representatives of other districts to take care of federal problems and situations.
Reigning in government, while keeping government actions strong within Constitutional charges.
I am a fan of Flowers for Algernon.

The first person view, personalizing the struggles as Charlie gains and loses knowledge, remind me that we need to respect all people regardless of their mental abilities or conditions.
A quicker change in leadership and presentation of new ideas thru new representation. More local focus on federal responsibilities, wherein the districts have a greater voice.
Not at all. In fact, career politicians have driven us to the horrid place where the federal government is today.
Governmental debt

Sustained economic growth

Erosion of Constitutional rights for all
Yes, but combined with a limitation of 4 terms or 8 years.
I do not wish to be a clone or model of any previous representative. As the needs and people of the district change, so should the representation.
Compromise is key, but not to the point where compromise leads to both sides taking additional powers without Constitutional Charge.
I would like to take on the role of fiscal responsibility, balanced with less complication in taxation for raising revenue. Simplify to bring more equality in treatment by government under law.
