I was born and raised in the 9th Senate District in Raytown, MO. I am the son of a union-proud family and understand the importance of hard work and making a difference. I am not a career politician, but currently serve the people of Raytown. My personal growth has been through acts of helping, learning, and listening to others. I am ready to take a broken system, built on private and corrupt interests, and give government back to the people.
  • Property Tax Assessment Reform
  • Affordable Housing and Access to Grocery Stores
  • Criminal Justice Reform
Every day I see the struggles and hardships that working families in the Kansas City Metro endure, whether that be the struggle to find local grocery stores, affordable housing, or struggling to pay the exorbitant increase in property taxes from the 2019 Jackson County re-assessment. The goal of my campaign is empathy, equity, and transparency. I am committed to having an open ear and open door at all times for all individuals of the 9th Senate District.
My grandparents. They have taught me that compassion has no bounds and that serving others is the greatest gift that anyone can give.
Honesty, transparency, and integrity go a long way when trying to build a relationship with constituents. I believe these principles are golden standards for elected officials to live by. These principles, if followed, create a better connection between the public and those who they are elected to serve.
By nature, I am a quiet individual, which allows me a greater opportunity to listen. This differentiates me from the "typical" politician who prefers to talk. The main responsibility of an elected official is to listen, and I pride myself on being able to do so effectively in the process of legislation.
It is not important to have previous experience to be elected or to hold public office. What is important is the ability to listen, learn, and empathize with the struggles and victories of your constituents in everyday life. Everyone must start somewhere. The ability to connect with constituents is more crucial than prior experience.
Missouri's greatest challenge in the next decade will be addressing the healthcare needs of the baby boomer generation while keeping a balanced budget that addresses our issues in transportation infrastructure, public education, and cultural differences between rural and urban Missourians.
Just like in the private sector, all professional relationships are advantageous for everyone. I think working together provides everyone with a different perspective from different experiences. When people work together, they can accomplish more for the people we serve.
I never want to limit the opportunities that I may come across in the future. However, if I continue running for office I want to do it for the people I serve, not myself. In the political arena, people make careers out of public service but they eventually lose their connection with the public and begin listening to private interests. I want to be a normal citizen that represents the average constituent. The moment that I lose connection with my constituents will be the last term I serve as an elected official.
