It may just be me, but I think both Hood of Horror (1.92* average) and this Bones (1.73* average) are excellent genre films. In any case, a lot more entertaining than 90% of the horror titles I've seen from this year (2019, that is). That early 2000's work still has a quality that seems a bit lost; just be entertaining. Snoop Dogg who returns from the dead (cool reverse special effects) and takes very over-the-top bloody revenge with supernatural powers. Leave it to Dickerson to steer that in the right direction. Has delivered quite a beloved cult classic with Tales from the Crypt Presents: Demon Knight (1995). Although Bones is not of the same caliber, the basics differ so little that it is difficult to understand why it scores so extremely low.

First collaboration in a film between Snoop Dogg and Pam Grier in a B horror film that has little impact. The story doesn't offer much and feels really fake. Luckily we still have Pam Grier, but this Blaxploitation Horror subgenre isn't really for me. 3/10

Pulp film by director Ernest R. Dickerson, who mainly conducts a kind of egocentric trip by Snoop Dogg. His role is clearly given every form of idiosyncrasy, while the other members have to make do with poorly written characters. It could be somewhat forgivable if his character was acted properly, but unfortunately that is not the case in Bones. The nicely uninhibited backgrounds and computer effects are nice, which certainly provide interesting sequences towards the finale, from which Dickerson seems to understand well what nonsense this film is. Unfortunately, the rest of the episode is mostly boring, just rambling around with bad acting and pitifully written content.
