Maine Highway Fund Use (1944)
The Maine Highway Fund Use Referendum was on the September 11, 1944 ballot in Maine as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved. The measure limited the use of revenues derived from the taxation of vehicles and fuels used on public highways to highway purposes.[1][2] This added Section 22 to Article IX of the Maine Constitution.[3]
