A Guide to Blake Lively's Movies, from Green Lantern and Hick to It Ends with Us

'The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants' (2005)

A Y2K classic, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants has earned a very soft spot in millennial hearts since it came out in 2005. The film stars Blake Lively, America Ferrera, Alexis Bledel and Amber Tamblyn as four best friends who are bonded by a perfect-fitting pair of jeans, as they go their separate ways for the first time.

Fans fell in love with the first film and a sequel was released in 2008. And though it's been more than 16 years since the four ladies hit the screen together, they have had plenty of heartwarming reunions over the years.

'Accepted' (2006)

We know Blake Lively to be Ryan Reynolds' biggest troll, but those comedy chops were finely harnessed in films such as Accepted, in which she stars with Justin Long.

In the movie, Lively plays Monica, the object of Long's affection who is along for the ride as he creates his own college after having been rejected from every institution to which he applied.

'Elvis and Anabelle' (2008)

In this romantic drama written and directed by Will Geiger, Blake Lively plays Anabelle, a young beauty queen who comes back to life and tries to aid in getting her companion, Elvis, played by Max Minghella, out of his emotional rut.

'New York, I Love You' (2008)

New York, I Love You is a romantic anthology film that follows several New Yorkers as they try to navigate the peaks and valleys of their complicated lives. In it, Blake Lively plays Gabrielle DiMarco in a chapter titled, "Brett Ratner."

'The Private Lives of Pippa Lee' (2009)

Blake Lively plays a younger version of a woman named Pippa Lee, who Robin Wright portrays in her older years. The film, which also stars Keanu Reeves, Alan Arkin and Winona Ryder, follows Pippa as she looks back at her life after her husband forces them to move to a suburban retirement community.

'The Town' (2010)

Blake Lively's next big role came in the critically acclaimed film,The Town.

Cowritten and directed by Ben Affleck, the film follows a group of bank robbers whose lives go awry when they kidnap a branch manager and one of them starts falling in love with her, jeopardizing the team's freedom.

The Town also stars Affleck, Jeremy Renner, Rebecca Hall and Jon Hamm.

'Green Lantern' (2011)

Green Lantern may have tanked at the box office, but it gave us one of the cutest couples in Hollywood. Blake Lively stars in the film as Carol Ferris, the love interest of Hal Jordan, played by her now-husband Ryan Reynolds back in 2011.

Though the two wouldn't start dating until 2012, they credit the film for getting them together.

'Hick' (2011)

After Green Lantern, Blake Lively joined forces with Chloë Grace Moretz and Eddie Redmayne to star in Hick in which she plays Glenda. The film is a coming-of-age drama that follows Moretz's character, Luli, as she runs away from her home in Nebraska and meets some questionable characters as she heads to Las Vegas.

'Savages' (2012)

After Hick, Blake Lively turned a leaf and went into the action/thriller realm with 2012's Savages. In the film, she plays one-third of a trio whose business comes under fire when a ruthless cartel leader demands a portion.

The movie also stars Taylor Kitsch, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, John Travolta, Salma Hayek and Benicio del Toro, among others.

'The Age of Adaline' (2015)

Tapping into her inner romantic, Blake Lively plays Adaline in this 2015 film about a young woman who suffers a freak accident that leaves her at 29 years old for the rest of her life. She wards off suitors until a handsome man, played by Michiel Huisman, sweeps her off her feet.

'The Shallows' (2016)

The following year, the actress took to the waters in The Shallows, a horror film about Nancy Adams, who goes surfing alone, gets attacked by a shark and is forced onto a giant rock but has to fight for her life as the deadly fish is still out for her blood.

'All I See Is You' (2016)

Her second film of that year saw Blake Lively playing Gina, a blind woman, whose marriage dynamics change once she undergoes a special surgery that allows her to see again. The movie costars Jason Clarke, Yvonne Strahovski, Wes Chatham, Danny Huston and more.

'A Simple Favor' (2018)

In this Gone Girl-esque thriller, Blake Lively joins forces with Anna Kendrick and Henry Golding as her character, Emily Nelson, disappears from her seemingly perfect suburban life without a trace.

'The Rhythm Section' (2020)

Blake Lively is a woman on a mission in this action thriller costarring Sterling K. Brown. The actress plays Stephanie Patrick, a self-destructive woman who spiraled after her family was fatally killed in a plane crash. However, her quest to find answers turns into a revenge plot once she finds out the crash wasn't an accident after all.

'If' (2024)

Now a mama of four, Blake Lively ventured into the world of animation when she played Octopuss in the John Kransiki-written and directed IF.

The film featured a heavy-hitting cast including Ryan Reynolds, Steve Carell, Maya Rudolph, Matt Damon, Jon Stewart and more. It marked the first time Lively and her hubby had worked together in a movie since Green Lantern.

'Deadpool & Wolverine' (2024)

Who better to be Lady Deadpool than Mrs. Reynolds herself? The actress played the female version of the bumbling anti-hero — one of her husband's signature characters — in the latest star-studded installment of the popular franchise: Deadpool & Wolverine.

'It Ends with Us' (2024)

Next up, Blake Lively hits the big screen in the highly anticipated movie adaptation of Colleen Hoover's book, It Ends with Us, out Aug. 9, 2024. In the film, the actress plays Lily Bloom, a flower shop owner who finds herself falling in love at the same time a special person from her past re-enters her life.
