People like to hate I see.

I’m not sure how this is rated a 7, and My Dress Up Darling is almost a full number score higher when there’s almost already been more plot progression in just these 4 chapters than that. I guess I’ll begin with what it’s started well with so far. Pacing, character dynamics, humor (ous) moments and situations, light-hearted themes. Where it could be improved next, more comedy, art, and that’s about it.

These are personal observations and it’s still early, but you guys hate life I guess. It’s been genuinely good so far and I hope it maintains this quality throughout.

Hima-Ten! Is a cozy, inoffensive high school harem romance thing that is mostly predictable but may be good junk food while you read better manga.

The gimmick is that male MC has a part-time cleaning gig and he ends up snagging a popular make-up influencer/business owner/high schooler as a client. This relationship, of course, has to be a secret because she will apparently be ruined if anyone knows she’s messy. To meet harem quota, MC has three girls –the influencer, the childhood friend, and a junior student (who is also a model, naturally) -- interested in him by the most recent chapter and he is, ... of course, mostly oblivious.

Perhaps the most compelling aspect of Hima-Ten! Is that it seems to be framed as a MC/influencer story with harem side-quests, but he likes the childhood friend and the childhood friend likes him back plus they have had plenty of opportunities to be together. This relationship just makes sense to root for even though it seems to be a MC/influencer story. Additionally, the three love interests are on relatively good terms with each other. So, it seems like the author is going in the “we want the best for each other, but we all like this milk toast MC and that’s hard” direction rather than solely the “I need to figure out my feelings” or “I can’t admit my feelings” direction, which gives a fairly generic story some complexity.

Otherwise, if you’re a fan of the genre, you’ve definitely read/watched this story before. The secret relationship hasn’t really added any stakes to the story so far and everyone’s courage to confess is progressing at a snail’s pace. Most recent chapters had our first “ actually was a confession, but denied at the last second to create misunderstanding” moment.

If you’re looking for something distracting, cute, and comfy, and you’re a fan this genre, this might be worth reading

5 or 6/10 story, personally enjoying it at a 7-8/10.

First of all, I have to admit that romcom manga is not my cup of tea. but this one is incredibly bland and flavorless as if it was written by a chatGPT AI. The plot is low-effort and the characters are cookie cutter as much as possible

Now let's check out the clichés and tropes in this series.

" Boy meets girl just because they have to " checked
" Modern/high school/slice of life/urban setting" checked
" The FeMc is rich and popular, the MC is poor and underdog" checked
" They finally fall in love each other after 500 chapters of relationship development" checked
" potential NTR/Love triangle" checked
" Here, ... your forced and cheap random fan-service. OMG !!!! Her skirt was blown by the wind and lifted up. then the MC saw it with his own two eyes and blushed " checked

All of these are things I've seen about the same number of years of the universe or the galaxy we live in.

The art is standard but the character designs are as bland as the story, especially the male protagonist. He's already very dull character and his design makes it worse while the girls are passable for romcom series but still lame and soulless, that's all I can say.

this series is as empty as air and has no emotion or depth or value other than formulaic, clichés and predictable developments we see in other 5 billion of so-called romantic comedy in the manga industry.

I hope it gets more interesting in the future but I'm not gonna expect anything from this kind of series

Not all romcom manga are bad, but this one is very underwhelming.

Edit : I made it to chapter 8 and it was even stupider and more boring than ever so I decided to drop it.

At this point, I hope it inevitably gets axed.
