Gender, environmental issues and policy: An examination of the views of male and female economists

Abstract
The authors survey male and female environmental economists, who are members of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (AERE), to determine if there are gender differences in views on environmental issues and policy. Controlling for organizational affiliation (academic, non-academic) and country of residence, we find general consensus in views on many issues by experts in the field. Nonetheless, there are statistically significant gender differences in views in all four areas of policy examined.
