Abstract
L'action climatique va coûter cher, mais moins cher que l'inaction à condition de réussir à gérer rationnellement la transition énergétique. Des techno-solutionnistes aux décroissants, des activistes aux promoteurs de la finance verte, des partis écologistes aux défenseurs d'un État-Léviathan, les propositions de transformation de notre démocratie libérale ne manquent pas pour relever le défi climatique. Mais qui va devoir agir, quand, et à quelle intensité ? Qui va payer ? Nos politiques climatiques sont un capharnaüm auquel plus personne ne comprend rien. Il existe pourtant un fort consensus en science économique sur les politiques climatiques à mener. Elles demandent une volonté politique forte à l'heure où nous vivons un véritable backlash écologique de nature populiste. Alors que la société comprend que les politiques climatiques peuvent être attentatoires aux libertés, diminuer le pouvoir d'achat et exacerber les inégalités sociales, Christian Gollier met au jour les coûts de la transition climatique et analyse les mérites relatifs des différentes politiques proposées. Et d'affirmer que ce n'est que par une pédagogie appuyée sur les faits et la science que nous pourrons sortir de l'impasse climatique.
