Abstract:
Traditional ESG metrics and sustainability reports provide valuable insights but they often fail to capture the true complexity of hybrid economic models. Organizations balancing profitability, social responsibility, and environmental impact need more than generic checklists: they need a framework that reflects the real trade-offs and interdependencies shaping their decisions. This paper introduces the SPHERE Framework (Sustainable Performance Hybrid Evaluation and Reporting Environment), a practical model for evaluating sustainable performance in organizations that integrate financial imperatives with ecological responsibility. SPHERE is structured around three key dimensions: 1) Financial viability – Ensuring economic balance while integrating sustainability constraints. 2) Societal impact – Measuring stakeholder value creation beyond financial returns. 3) Environmental sustainability – Translating green commitments into measurable transformation. Through case studies of public-private partnerships, investment funds with impact mandates, and circular economy pioneers, we demonstrate how SPHERE can provide a decision-making tool that goes beyond compliance. In an era where hybrid models are reshaping industries, this framework offers a pragmatic, data-driven approach to measuring what truly matters.
