Storm is raining on our parade! The Avengers: Doomsday cast is undoubtedly stacked with some of the most beloved characters from the franchise, but there are several coveted names still missing from the list, including X-Men star Halle Berry. And the actress has dashed any hopes fans may have for a Storm cameo in the highly anticipated film.

Marvel unveiled the cast in a painstakingly slow livestream that revealed a new star’s name on a studio chair every 10 minutes, from Vanessa Kirby to Pedro Pascal. And while several X-Men stars will be reprising their roles — namely Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, and James Marsden — Berry was surprisingly one of the few X-Men stars who did not make the cut.

The actress made it clear during a recent appearance at CinemaCon that fans should not expect to see her name on a Marvel chair any time soon.

“Keep waiting. It’s not going to be there,” Berry told Black Girl Nerds. “It’s not going to be there.”

Berry originated the role in the 2000 live-action film X-Men, which she reprised again in the sequels X2 and X-Men: The Last Stand. She last played Storm in the 2014 installment, X-Men: Days of Future Past.

There is still a chance that more cast members will be announced as production on the film ramps up. Some even believe that Hailee Steinfeld may have accidentally confirmed that she will be in the action blockbuster, though she wasn’t announced in the original livestream.

The Avengers: Doomsday cast featured several surprises already, however. The Fantastic Four cast, who will make their debut this summer when the reboot premieres in theaters, will appear, along with newcomer Lewis Pullman.

Avengers: Doomsday, which will be directed by the Russo brothers, has begun production in London.

It is slated to premiere in theaters May 1, 2026.
