Volume one is a real doozy of a compilation that features music music written, composed and produced in the state on the Atlantic coast of the US by the influential pair of pioneers George Kerr and Paul Kyser. From the 60s through to the 90s they had a huge impact on soul and shaped the sound of acts like Soul Generation, Florence Ballard, Linda Jones, The Moments, The O'Jays and The Whatnauts and were often sampled by hip-hop greats of ensuing generations. This album is a great testament to the richness of their sound.
