Review: The visionary electronic explorer that is Steve Spacek returns with a limited edition 7" release on his new label, SPA. It gets the full treatment with a full picture sleeve and he says there are no plans for a repress so this is your one and only chance to own SPA001. Opener 'Could It Be Your Luv' offers a gentle, soothing half-time rhythm that evokes a love bruk vibe that he says was inspired by the ethereal nights at the legendary Plastic People. The B-side cut 'Dancing In The Light' features a unique clippety-clop, horse-step rhythm that blends a futuristic lovers' rock style with bright synths and bold bass topped with a heartfelt vocal. It's designed for dancefloors that appreciate a one-foot skank.

Something Tells Me
Review: Steve Spacek makes a welcome return with 'Blue Room' i a smooth, slow-burning blend of broken beat, minimal soul, and futuristic electronics. Known for his work with the influential group Spacek and collaborations with the likes of Mark Pritchard and SA-RA - aside from beign brother of Exit Records mogul dBridge - Spacek has long operated at the outer edges of UK soul and electronic music. This release continues that tradition i understated, groove-led and rich in atmosphere. The title track is quietly hypnotic, built on a loose, off-grid rhythm and his signature airy vocals. Subtle and spacious, 'Blue Room' doesn't demand attention, but rewards close listening.

Review: Originally released in 2005, Space Shift marked the innovative debut from UK-born, Australia-based artist Steve Spacek. Known for his fusion of soul, electronic, and broken beat, Steve Spacek created a forward-thinking blend of sound with this album. His smooth vocals glide effortlessly over experimental production, weaving through bass-heavy rhythms and glitchy textures. Tracks like 'Dollar', produced by the legendary J Dilla, critiques materialism with a hypnotic groove and is a reimagining of Billy Paul's classic. The collaboration with Dilla showcases Spacek's creative synergy with one of hip-hop's most iconic producers. Other gems like 'Thursday' and 'The Hills' bring lush, atmospheric soundscape that rival some of the best in the genre that year. Now reissued by Spa Recordings, Space Shift includes an unreleased collaboration with J Dilla, 'This One Feels Alright', this re-release reaffirming the album's impact and lasting influence on modern electronic soul.
