French label Skylax is back with a new outing from Italian maestro Blue Mondays whose The Homage EP not only pays tribute to the golden age of Italo disco but also embodies the essence of raw, visceral proto-house, championed by legends like Frankie Knuckles and Ron Hardy. In the opener, Blue Mondays crafts a journey into Italo's heart that honours the pioneers with his own twist. The instrumental version adds pure musicality, letting beats and melodies shine while on the B-side, 'Countach (Driving Mix)' channels classic Italo's driving energy, then 'Strangers from the Past (Vocal Mix)' draws from new wave influences to skillfully bridge past and present.
