A Meridian Township Central Fire Station Bond proposal was on the November 6, 2012 election ballot in Ingham County, which is in Michigan it was approved.
This proposal authorized the Township of Meridian to issue up to $3.5 million in general obligation bonds in order to fund erecting, furnishing, and equipping an new central fire station. The estimated property tax in order pay this debt was .2 mill ($0.2 per $1,000 of assessed valuation) for a maximum of fifteen years.[1]

Language on the ballot:
| “ | Shall the Charter Township of Meridian, County of Ingham, State of Michigan, borrow the principal sum of not to exceed Three Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($3,500,000) and issue its general obligation unlimited tax bonds for the purpose of erecting, furnishing, and equipping a new central fire station on a site located at the Southeast corner of Okemos Road and Central Park Drive, and improving the site? The estimated millage to be levied in 2013 to service this issue of bonds is 0.2 mill (20¢ per $1,000 of taxable value) and the estimated average annual millage rate required to retire the bonds of this issue is 0.2 mill (20¢ per $1,000 of taxable value). The bonds may be payable in not to exceed fifteen (15) years from the date of issue.[1][2] | ” |
