The city of Fremont, California, held elections for city council on November 4, 2014. The candidate filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was August 8, 2014.[1][2]
Two at-large council seats were up for election. The only incumbent in this race was Raj Salwan, who was appointed to the council in January 2013. A total of nine candidates filed for election. Challengers Rick Jones and Lily Mei won election to the city council.
Downtown revitalization, the "Innovation Hub" in the Warm Spring area and small business development were some of the key issues that shaped the Fremont 2014 election cycle.[3]
