Biography
Hoffman earned his B.S. in Finance from Illinois State University in 1983 and his J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law in 1986. His professional experience includes working as an Attorney.

Hoffman lost his bid for re-election to the 112th District seat to Republican Dwight D. Kay.[15] He ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on February 2nd. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.

On November 4, 2008, Democrat Jay Hoffman won re-election to the Illinois House of Representatives District 112 receiving 31,947 votes, ahead of Republican Dwight Kay who received 23,805 votes.[16]
