General Government Committee, Oklahoma State Senate
The General Government Committee is a standing committee of the Oklahoma State Senate.
Per Section 7-2 of the Senate Rules, committees of the Oklahoma State Senate are assigned by the President Pro Tempore.[1] The rules do not specify when or how often committees are assigned. The President Pro Tempore shall appoint, subject to the approval of the Senate, the Majority Caucus members and the chair and vice-chair of each standing committee.[1] The Minority Floor Leader shall appoint, subject to the approval of the Senate, the minority membership of all standing committees. Any vacancies that have occurred in any committees after members have been appointed will be filled by the President Pro Tempore or the Minority Floor Leader, as appropriate.[1] The vacancy appointment will be subject to the approval of the Senate. The President Pro Tempore and the Majority Floor Leader are considered to be ex officio members with voting rights of all standing committees.[1]
