Fred Borchard
Frederick L. Borchard was the chief judge for the 10th Circuit Court in Saginaw County, Michigan. He was appointed to this position by former Governor Engler on November 10, 1998, to replace retired Judge Edmund Troester.[1] His final term ended on January 1, 2017.[2][3] He was appointed as the court's chief judge in December 2012.[4]
Education
Borchard received his B.S. from Alma College in 1969 and his J.D. from the University of Detroit School of Law in 1972.[1]
Career
Borchard began his career, following law school, as an Assistant Prosecutor for Saginaw County. Prior to his judicial appointment, he worked as a senior partner of the law firm of Smith, Bovill, Fisher, Meyer Borchard, P.C. He joined the circuit court bench in 1998.[1]
2010 election

Borchard was re-elected without opposition in the general election on November 2, 2010.[2]
