The question on the ballot:

Shall the limitation on the amount of taxes which may be imposed for library purposes upon taxable property in the City of Eastpointe, County of Macomb, State of Michigan, be increased in an amount not to exceed 1.0 mill ($1.00 per $1,000 of taxable value) on the taxable value of all taxable property in the City of Eastpointe beginning with the 2012 levy, for a period of 5 years, in order to provide funds for the operation and maintenance of the City’s public library known as the Eastpointe Memorial Library? If approved and levied in its entirety, this millage would raise an estimated additional amount of $464,503.00 for the Library in 2012.[3]
