Deb Shafto (b. New Hampshire) was a Green Party candidate for Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts in the 2014 elections. Deb Shafto lost the general election on November 4, 2014.

Shafto was a 2012 Green Party candidate for District 147 of the Texas House of Representatives.

Shafto moved to New York City after high school. She sold insurance, worked as a waitress and for a moving and storage company. She then bought and ran her own company for ten years. Shafto also worked in a treatment facility and ran a group home for disturbed adolescents.

Shafto later moved to Texas where she worked as a union organizer, went to college and earned her master's degree in education.[1]

Shafto ran for election to the office of Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts in 2015. Shafto won the Green Party nomination.[2] The general election took place on November 4, 2014.
