A. David Mazzone (1928-2004) was a federal judge for the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. He joined the court in 1978 after an appointment from Jimmy Carter. At the time of appointment, Mazzone served as an Associate justice, Superior Court of Massachusetts. He assumed senior status on June 3, 1993. He continued his service until his death on October 25, 2004.[1]

Judicial nominations and appointments

District of Massachusetts

President Jimmy Carter nominated Mazzone to a seat vacated by Frank Murray on January 26, 1978; he was confirmed by the Senate on February 7, 1978, and received commission on February 10. He assumed senior status on June 3, 1993. He continued his service until his death on October 25, 2004. His vacancy was filled by Nancy Gertner.[1]
