A City of Lathrop Sales Tax Increase, Measure C was on the November 6, 2012, ballot for voters in the City of Lathrop in San Joaquin County, where it was approved.[1]

Measure C levied a one-cent sales tax on the sale of goods and services in the City of Sacramento. The tax will exist in perpetuity (that is, it does not "sunset" in a certain number of years). It is expected that the new tax will generate $2 million a year in new revenues for the city.

Proceeds from the tax are not earmarked for any specific type of spending. Because of that, a simple majority vote is required to pass the measure.
