  • Veteran Care, as there are far too many veterans that are not being taken care of or given the respect they so deserve. So many of them have sacrificed so we can live in freedom and have the rights and privilege's that we take for granted. To see a veteran living in the street to be shunned and ridiculed or to be subject to the horror of the VA hospitals and the horrendous treatment. I will fight for our veterans because the veterans of our military have put their lives on the line to protect the freedoms that we enjoy.
  • Smaller Government because countries with small governments are far more productive and efficient. Smaller government yields better economic performance. Nations with small governments achieve better outcomes.
  • 1st Amendment, I support 1A because without freedom of thought we are nothing more than a shell of a person. We as humans need to think for ourselves and have the ability to speak up for ourselves as it is in our nature

I have always looked up to my mother as she was a single mother when I was growing up and I remember her getting her GED then moving on to college all the while having a full time job and taking care of her kids on her own. I remember the sacrifices she made to ensure we were happy and well taken care of not going without.
Transparency as I feel that an elected official should be straight and up front with the people. Show them you are sincere in their needs

Integrity because an elected official should be held accountable with a high level of integrity because therefore it would limit opportunities for an administrator to act with unchecked discretion.

Fairness as elected officials should reach out to the people in the community before making decisions that could be perceived as biased or insensitive
I am a veteran, firefighter, Intermediate Paramedic and a strong willed, passionate individual
I want my grandchildren to know that I stood up for those in need who were struggling with hardships and obstacles.
While stationed in Germany, my husband and I were coming back to the states from Germany and as we sat on the plane the plane was grounded because they were taking the Berlin wall down. We sat on the plane on the runway watching it on the big screen television on the plane.
US. Military (Oct 1981 to Oct 1985 with 2 years Inactive reserve until 1987)
Stephen King - The Stand
I am a firm believer in the Lord and in The Stand it deals with Good and Evil as it is a battle between Angels and Demons thus showing us that there is a balance. Without one you cant have the other.
Gina Davis's character "Morgan" the pirate from Cutthroat Island
Trying to help so many and not having the means to do so therefore seeing so many struggle (including my family)
Being governor is certainly an important job. We need someone who will fight for hardworking Illinoisans! I am a veteran, firefighter, Intermediate Paramedic and a strong willed, passionate individual that has been in your shoes. I will fight for Illinois as it is on the brink of collapse. I will stand for every citizen and be the voice they deserve in rebuilding Illinois and making it the best place to raise our children and our grandchildren.
-Inform the legislature of conditions in which the State needs to grow and makes recommendations

-Implement State legislation
-Serve as the State's Chief Executive Officer
-Oversee the functions of the Executive branch of government.

Yes, I believe there should be veto power as gives the power to defend state interests and promotes importance to a state issue or law.
It has amazing state parks and forest preserves with trails and it is difficult to resist taking a photo of an Illinois sunrise or sunset. Going from red and orange to pink and purple, our skies are some of the most gorgeous in the nation. I grew up in Colorado but in the last 30+ years I have been here, I have enjoyed the scenic views, the history, and the cultures of Illinois, not to mention my daughter was born here and grew up here so that makes it all that much more beautiful.
-Population loss

In raw numbers, Illinois ranked first in population loss among the 50 states in 2017, losing the title of fifth-largest state in the process.

-Stagnant employment growth
Illinois trails the national average in productivity growth and employment growth. Through November 2017, nearly 100,000 Illinois job seekers gave up on finding a job altogether. Around the rest of the U.S., labor force participation rebounded to the tune of 665,000 new participants.

-Sky-high property taxes

Property taxes paid in Illinois grew more than six times faster than household incomes from 2008-2015. That means the real property tax burden – the percentage of household income paid in property taxes – increased by nearly 38 percent.
The Governor should be able to use Emergency powers when there is a crisis that puts the residents of the state in harms way for example, to address a specific weather disaster,
