Carol Soloman was a circuit court judge for the Twentieth Circuit Court Division VIII, which presides over Davidson County in Tennessee. She was first elected to the court in September 1998 and re-elected without opposition in 2006.[1][2]

Soloman ran for re-election to the Twentieth Circuit Court in 2014 but was defeated in the Democratic primary by Kelvin Jones. She left the bench when her term expired on August 31, 2014.[3][4]

Primary: She was defeated in the Democratic primary on May 6, 2014, receiving 29.1 percent of the vote. She competed against Jon Peeler and Kelvin Jones. [3][4]

Education

Soloman received her undergraduate degree from Peabody College (now known as Vanderbilt University at Peabody) and her J.D. degree from the Nashville School of Law in 1979.[1][5]

Career

Soloman worked as a private practice lawyer in Davidson County and the surrounding area for nineteen years prior to her judicial election in 1998. Her law practice emphasized family and criminal law. She has also served as an assistant district attorney general.[1][5]
