Beth Whitmore
Beth Whitmore was a judge on the Ohio Ninth District Court of Appeals. She was elected to the court in November 1998 and was re-elected in 2004 and 2010. Her last six-year term ended on February 10, 2017.[1][2]
Education
Whitmore received her undergraduate degree from Grinnell College and her J.D. from the University of Akron School of Law.[1]
Military service
Before she entered law school, Whitmore served in the United States Air Force at Goodfellow Airforce Base.[1]
Career
Whitmore began her legal career practicing with the national law firm of Arter & Hadden. She worked in this position for 14 years and was then appointed to the Summit County Court of Common Pleas. She was subsequently elected to this court, where she served until her election to the Ohio Ninth District Court of Appeals in 1998.[1]

Whitmore ran for election to the Summit County Court of Common Pleas General Division.
General: She was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 45.9 percent of the vote. She competed against incumbent Judge Mary Margaret Rowlands.

2010
Whitmore was re-elected to the Ohio Ninth District Court of Appeals. She defeated Rita Rochford in the general election, winning 68.2 percent of the vote.[7][8]
