Burkley Allen is an at-large member of the Nashville Metro Council in Tennessee. She assumed office on September 28, 2019. Her current term ends in 2027.
Allen ran for re-election for an at-large seat of the Nashville Metro Council in Tennessee. She won in the general runoff election on September 14, 2023.
Allen previously represented District 18 in the metro council from 2011 to 2019.[1]
Biography
Allen received a bachelor's degree in physics from Davidson College in 1980 and a master's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Virginia in 1982. Her professional experience includes working as a senior mechanical engineer at IC Thomasson Associates. Other experience includes serving as vice president of the Sister Cities of Nashville Board of Directors, member of the West End Middle School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and member and president of the Hillsboro-West End Neighborhood board.[1]

Note: Incumbent Bob Mendes was elected outright in the general election on August 1, 2019, and did not advance to the general runoff election. Mendes' eight runners-up advanced to a general runoff election on September 12, 2019.[3]
2015
The city of Nashville, Tennessee, held nonpartisan elections for mayor and metro council on August 6, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was May 21, 2015. All 41 metro council seats—including the office of vice mayor—were up for election. In District 18, incumbent Burkley Allen was unopposed.[4][5]
