Angela Newsom
Angela Newsom was a 2015 Democratic candidate for Ward 22 of the St. Louis, Missouri, Board of Aldermen.
Biography
Newsom attended Meramec Community College.[1]
She has participated in numerous community groups including the West End Community Conference, the West End Neighborhood Accountability Board, the Weed & Seed Steering Committee-West End Neighborhood, the Soldan High School PTO, the West End Housing & Development Corporation, the Officer Norvell Brown Scholarship Committee, the SLPS A+ Partnership Plan Advisory Committee, the West End Mt. Carmel Community Outreach Service Board, SLPS and the Community Mediation Services of St. Louis.[1]
From 2004 to 2006, Newsom served as nuisance coordinator, identifying problem properties in the 2nd, 3rd and 21st Wards of St. Louis. In 2008, Newsom was elected committeewoman of the 26th Ward. She held the position from 2008 to 2012.[1]
Elections
2015
The city of St. Louis, Missouri, held elections for its board of aldermen on April 7, 2015. A primary election took place on March 3, 2015.
In the Democratic primary election for Ward 22, incumbent Jeffrey L. Boyd defeated Deceal Burgess and Angela Newsom. Renee Keeble ran unopposed in the Green Party primary. Boyd defeated Keeble in the general election.[2][3]
