Beale ran for re-election to the Chicago City Council to represent Ward 9 in Illinois. He won in the general election on February 28, 2023.

In 2013, Beale was a Democratic candidate seeking election to the U.S. House of Representatives in the special election for the 2nd Congressional District of Illinois.[1][2]

The city of Chicago, Illinois, held elections for city council on February 24, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was November 24, 2014.[3] In the general election for Ward 9, incumbent Anthony Beale defeated Michael E. Lafargue, Harold "Noonie" Ward and Theodore "Ted" Williams.[4] Curtiss Llong Bey, Marcia Brown and Agin Muhammad II were removed from the ballot in December 2014.[5]

Beale ran in the 2013 special election for the U.S. House, representing Illinois' 2nd District. The election was held to replace Jesse Jackson, Jr.. Beale lost in the Democratic primary to Robin Kelly.[6]
