Vera Ortegon was a Republican candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Colorado in the 2014 elections. Her running mate, Mike Kopp, sought the party's nomination in the gubernatorial primary election on June 24, 2014.[1]

Ortegon was a Republican candidate for District 3 of the Colorado State Senate.[2] The primary election was on August 10, 2010, and the general election was on November 2.

Biography

Ortegon graduated with a degree in Microbiology and Biochemistry from Rutgers University. Ortegon worked as a lab manager or the University of Southern Colorado Biochemistry Research Lab from 1980 to 1984 and as research lab manager at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs Biotechnology Center.[2]

Ortegon works as a healthcare professional and is a former Pueblo city councilwoman.
