Vanessa H. White was a superior court judge for the Third Judicial District in Palmer, Alaska.[1] White was appointed in November 2006 by Gov. Frank Murkowski (R). She was retained for a six-year term in 2010. White won another full term in the retention election on November 8, 2016. She retired from the bench in 2019.

2010

Judge White was retained in 2010.[2] The Alaska Judicial Council supported her retention.[3][4] She is up for retention again in 2016.

Education

White graduated from Knox College in 1981 with a Bachelor of Arts, Cum Laude. In may of 1988 she graduated from the University of Puget Sound School of Law with her J.D.[5]

Career

Judge white has practiced law for at least 21 years in Alaska. In 1986 from May to August she made a summer internship with Sinsheimer & Meltzer. From 1987 to 1988 she was a legal intern with Burgess, Kennedy, Fitzer & Strombom. She worked in insurance defense and coverage cases with Guess & Rudd in Anchorage, Alaska from 1988 to 1989. From 1989 to 1992 she worked with Tugman Clark and Ray.[5]
