Tony N. Leung is a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. He has served in this position since April 29, 2011.[1] He was re-appointed on December 20, 2018.[2]

Education

Leung received his B.A. degree from Yale University in 1982 and his J.D. degree from the New York University School of Law in 1985. In addition to English, he speaks Chinese Mandarin and Cantonese.[3]

Professional career

Prior to his elevation to the federal bench, Leung was a Minnesota Fourth Judicial District judge for Hennepin County, Minnesota. He was appointed to that position on July 1, 1994, and was elected in 2002 and 2008.

Prior to becoming a judge, Tony Leung worked for the law firm of Faegre & Benson, LLC, from 1984 to 1994 as an associate and, later, an equity partner.[3]
