2016

Jarman told Vote411.org about his policy positions on major issues:[7]

Budgets and fiscal policy

  • Excerpt: "With the exception of tax exemptions for farmers and ranchers I oppose tax exemptions. I also oppose tax credits and all forms of corporate welfare. I am also opposed to any more reductions in the state income tax. We must stop crippling our state."

Education

  • Excerpt: "From my viewpoint this question ties in directly with what I said above about eliminating tax exemptions and tax credits so that our schools can receive the funding they need to operate on on [sic] a daily basis. I think that we must not just provide public education for our children but provide a quality education for our children. We must keep our class sizes down, offer a wide variety of classes to enable them to compete with students world wide, and we must pay our teachers a more than adequate salary so they will not have to consider leaving the state in search of better pay."

Incarceration

  • Excerpt: "I support drug courts. They help people overcome their addictions. I also support our state's mental health services and facilities. So many inmates in our correctional facilities are there for drug-related issues or they suffer from mental illness or both. Those people are being treated as criminals when they need assistance to overcome obstacles in their lives. Other states have drug courts and they work. By having and encouraging drug courts in Oklahoma we should see a major decline in our overcrowded prisons."
