The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was January 28, 2014. Linda Howlett Belcher defeated Jonathan Cacciatore in the Democratic primary, while Michael J. Nemes ran unopposed in the Republican primary. Belcher defeated Nemes in the general election.[1][2][3]
