The Maine Highway and Bridge Improvement Bond Issue, also known as Referendum Question No. 2, was on the November 3, 1981 ballot in Maine as a legislatively referred bond question, where it was approved.[1] The measure issued $12.3 million for bridge and highway improvements.[2]
Background
The measure combined two pieces of legislation from the 110th legislature. The first was "AN ACT to Authorize Bond Issue in the Amount of $12,800,000 for Highway and Bridge Improvements."[3] The second was "AN ACT to Amend a Bond Issue for Highway and Bridge Improvements," which decreased the original bond amount by $500,000 to a total of $12,300,000.[4]
