The Maine State Official Term Limits Initiative, also known as Question 1, was on the November 2, 1993 ballot in Maine as an indirect initiated state statute, where it was approved.[1] The measure created term limits for the offices of state legislators, secretary of state, state treasurer, attorney general and state auditor. All of these offices were limited to four consecutive terms, except state auditor, which was limited to two consecutive terms.[2][3]
