The Maine School Boards Association is a nonprofit organization in Maine that represents local school board members. Its parent group is the Maine School Management Association, which also includes the Maine School Superintendents Association.[1]
Background
As of August 2025, Maine School Boards Association's website said its mission is to "enhance the education of all students in Maine’s public schools by identifying and serving the needs of local school boards through board development, information and support services, and by advocating for all Maine public schools at the state and national levels."[2]
Leadership
As of August 2025, Faye Anderson is the president of MSBA and Eric Waddell is the group's executive director.[3]

The MSBA provides testimony on legislation in the Maine Legislature related to education issues.[5] The organization also maintains a dashboard for members about bills in the legislature and provides regular newsletters, video and audio updates, and trainings on legislative and government relations.[6] It has three lobbyists in the state legislature via its parent organization, the Maine School Management Association.[7]
The organization also provides training and support for Maine school boards and their members.[8]
