I am an ERISA attorney who works to protect workers from abusive corporate practices, particularly with respect to retirement plans. I am also a member of the Kirkwood School Board.

As an attorney my cases have returned over $500 million into workers' retirement savings. During my time on the school board, we have: (1) improved student performance; (2) lowered the tax rate; (3) reduced teacher turnover; (4) raised pay; and (5) increased our financial reserves.

  • A generation of far-right policies haven't helped us. On average, Missourians learn less, earn less, and die sooner than when Republicans took over the Missouri legislature. It's time to try something different.
  • Supporting and protecting public education is key to growing our economy and improving outcomes for our citizens.
  • "Culture war" issues have hurt every aspect of Missouri. We should protect access to healthcare, reverse Missouri's total ban on abortion, and adopt proven anti-crime strategies, such as demanding responsibility from gun owners.

Education, public health and safety, the economy and the environment.

A hunger to represent everyone, the discipline to educate themselves on how best to do so, and the humility to question their own initial beliefs and assumptions.

My first job was working as a Boy Scout summer camp counselor in the Panama Canal Zone, which only lasted one summer. My second job was as a soccer referee, which I did for twenty years, with five of those being at the professional level.

Each branch should be a check on the other, but should freely share what they know and learn in order to improve outcomes for all Missourians.

Education, Budget, Retirement, and Civil and Administrative Law.

Sunlight is the best disinfectant and voters have to do their part in educating themselves and holding elected officials accountable regardless of party.

I would protect the current state ballot initiative process. I would leave the process for constitutional changes as is and would try to make it harder for the legislature to amend or reverse statutory changes made through the process.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Missouri

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
