Tarrant County held an election for county college board of trustees and water district board of directors on May 6, 2017. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was February 17, 2017.
Three seats on the Tarrant County College District Board of Trustees were up for election in 2017. Incumbent Bill Greenhill was the only candidate to file in District 4, and Michael Evans Sr. was the only contender for the open seat in District 5. The elections in both districts were canceled, and Greenhill and Evans were declared elected. Incumbent Diane Patrick defeated challenger Sean Hayward for the third seat on the board.[1]
Incumbent Mary Kelleher lost her seat on the Tarrant Regional Water District board in the May election. Incumbent Jack Stevens and challengers James Hill and Leah King picked up the board's three available seats.[2]
