Public Service Commission (2 seats) |
Montana is holding an election for two of five seats on the Montana Public Service Commission on November 3, 2026.
Heading into the elections, Republicans control all five seats. In 2024, Republicans won all three seats that were up for election despite six-figure satellite spending against incumbent Jennifer Fielder (R).[1] The 2026 races also follow a 2025 court ruling that the commission's district boundaries were constitutional, though they favored Republican candidates.[2]
Ten states choose commissioners by partisan election. Seven are holding elections in 2026. Heading into the 2026 elections, Republicans control all 10 commissions that use partisan elections.
Of the seven commissions holding elections in 2026, Republicans control 26 seats to Democrats’ two.
