Linda Goode Phillips (b. October 21, 1952) is a former Democratic member of the West Virginia House of Delegates, representing District 25 from 2008 to December 31, 2015. She resigned because she decided not to run for re-election in 2016.[1]

Biography

Phillips earned her BA/M.A. from Marshall University. She is an elementary school counselor. Phillips has served as Chair of the Streets Committee for Pineville Town Council.[2]

Elections for the West Virginia House of Delegates took place in 2014. A primary election took place on May 13, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was January 25, 2014. Incumbent Linda Goode Phillips was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Sue Cline was unopposed in the Republican primary. Phillips defeated Cline in the general election.[3]

Phillips ran for re-election in the 2012 election for West Virginia House of Delegates, District 25. Phillips defeated Lyle Cottle in the May 8 primary election and was unchallenged in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[4][5][6]

Phillips was re-elected to the West Virginia House of Delegates District 22. She was one of three candidates running for the two District 22 Delegate positions on the ballot in the November 2, 2010, general election. Her opponents in the general election were Republican Shawn R. Spears and Democrat incumbent Daniel Hall. The two top vote-getters were elected.[7]

In 2008, Phillips was elected to the West Virginia House District 22. Phillips (D) finished with 6,824 votes and was followed by Daniel Hall (D) with 5,887 votes.[8] Phillips raised $14,019 for her campaign fund.[9]
